Residence Visa for those Married to Indonesian Citizens (WNI)
This visa type is for foreigners who are married to Indonesian Citizens (WNI – family) and have official marriage certificates endorsed by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia.
They may apply for a spouse visa Indonesia valid for one (1) year with the KITAS (limited stay permit card) being sponsored by the Indonesian spouse. Besides obtaining the one (1) year residence visa, they shall also be eligible for the MERP (multiple re-entry permit) from the local immigration office in the area where they live.
The Spouse Visa Indonesia requirements are as follows:
- Marriage certificate
- Bank statement (min. 2,000 USD)
- CNI (Certificate of No Impediment) letter. You will get it from your country’s embassy in Indonesia
- Family Card (Kartu Keluarga) of the Indonesian spouse
- ID (KTP) of the Indonesian spouse
- Birth certificate (Akta Lahir) of the Indonesian spouse
- Your Passport with minimum 18 months validity
- Domicile letter from sub-district (kantor kecamatan) or domicile letter from Building Management
step by step process
The process time is approx. 14 working days
We apply for your e-visa (vitas)
After E-visa is done, we pick up your passport and report to Immigration
You go to Immigration for your biometric data capture (photograph and finger prints)
Wait for the stamp on the passport from Immigration (will take 2-3 working days)
We return the passport, alongside the STM & SKTT (NIK)
For visitors entering Indonesia through the airport auto-gate, the biometric data capture step at Immigration can be skipped. We will handle the reporting to the Immigration Office on your behalf

Renewal of Spouse KITAS E31
After one year you have to apply for a spouse KITAS E31 again.The RENEWAL Spouse KITAS E31 requirements are as follows:
- Recent KITAS Marriage certificate
- CNI (Certificate of No Impediment) letter. You will get it from your country’s embassy in Indonesia
- Family Card (Kartu Keluarga) of the Indonesian spouse
- ID (KTP) of the Indonesian spouse Birth certificate (Akta Lahir) of the Indonesian spouse
- Your Passport with minimum 18 months validity
